DREAM FORUM - THE WATER TOWER IS MOVING

THE DREAM : This dream dawned on me slowly and didn’t seem very important. I was out walking over the gravel mounds behind our railway station. All trains using the line terminate here in the awake world.
It was the sudden movement of a tree growing out of the top of a water tower that caught my attention. They were both gliding effortlessly across the landscape and looked so odd I decided this warranted my dreaming minds attention.
Walking up a mixed clay mound I noticed the tower and tree had been loaded into the back of an open goods carriage. There was a train load of goods carriage’s slowly moving down the line carrying away the remains of the railway station that was being demolished. Many of the tracks and fittings had already been removed and there was just the empty cavern of the goods shed left.
I suddenly got excited. What a great music venue that would make.
In no time I was scampering over the waste area checking out the shed for its suitability. The surreal sight of trees and water towers gliding across the landscape were soon in the back of my mind.
The dream moved quickly through time and it was clear negotiations for the space were moving slowly. An offer of space at the university had come up and suddenly I was at a bluegrass music event in the hall there during the break.
Things were moving very slowly and the punters attending were unhappy. I was not on the inside of this gigs management but I could see young people keen on plying music loosing heart. My heart was moved to try and understand the problem and do something if I could.
A man came up to me saying “Is there any Jazz? I thought this was a roots music festival.”
When I said “No this is a strictly bluegrass music festival because you need to get the music to stick in your head and the other styles just interfere with that.” He turned and said “I might as well go home then – there is nothing here for me.”
A group of young people nearby heard the conversation.
“We might as well go home then.” said a young man to his mates. They were clearly a band and were so disappointed. I could see their instruments were all ready to go, they just needed the nod to go on the stage.
I stepped forward and said “I am sure we may be able to get you a slot during the break.” And moved to try and find the organizer’s.
In a back room I was told the group I belonged to had been called upon to help out because the university had told the original organizer’s of the event they would not let them do it. Suddenly it became clear to me why things were so muddled.
I knew the original organizer’s. They were strong on promise and poor on delivery. So I spoke up for the young people and said “It won’t matter if they go on during the break then even though they don’t play bluegrass.”
I pushed for the young people to get support. So many people have a heart to play music only to see their hopes dashed when promises made to them are not fulfilled.
The dream closed here as the young people moved toward the stage to play their set.
THE BACKGROUND:Yesterday I posted a notice about two music events I am part off. The bluegrass event I am actually organizing. The other event I am not but am participating in.
A couple I know often move in to take over these events un-asked, I know in my heart they may attend both. I also know I may have to deal with the damage their gung ho approach causes other people. I am anxious about this as I prefer to avoid damage to other people if possible.
As I was working on notifying the regular attendees to my own event I came across a notice on Facebook that one of our music contacts had died suddenly. I posted a memorial notice sharing a note about the last time my husband and I had seen him.
He had been walking his dog down by the old railway station. He met us as we were filming the old steam train ride across the trestle over the river from the river park. We had a pleasant chat and it was nice to catch up about three years ago now.
The scene of the tree and the water tower opening this dream is symbolic of a funeral procession. The tree moved the same way flowers do when they are transported.
Finding affordable music venues is not easy. In the music community I am part of there is a regular jamm session held in a disused railway station and I was exploring that idea for myself in this dream.
For me this dream is about these two issues that occupied my mind yesterday.

Many people do not immediately connect dreams with daily happenings. Your dream explores various ideas about music venues and shows both a positive and negative side. Dreams will often explore a perspective either good or bad... this is part of how we explore various thoughts
