DREAM FORUM - Green snakes chasing me
POSTED September 27, 2011, 08:02 by KT_Inc (Viewed 464 times)

THE DREAM : Last night, I had an extremely vivid and terrifying dream.

In my dream, the following happened:

Players: It was me, Steve Mac (my boss), Brandon (a co-worker) and Lennis (a worker who recently left), and others that I cannot remember, but I felt comfortable with them. Lennis and Brandon are both younger (mid 20’s)

Setting: Table near a pool, an office building, a “storage” room – full of old furniture and a small TV and a small couch.

The dream starts off as so – a bunch of people are sitting around a desk, telling embarrassing stories. I am telling mine – something about a pee’ing my pants in front of my friends. Everyone gets a good laugh. Actually, I remember that that was what I was going to talk about, but I’m not sure if I ever finished the telling.

We were adjourned for lunch. In order to leave, we have to walk through a pool area (that looks a lot like my parents’ pool). I’m the last one through, and as I am walking by, I see a green (like a really vivid green) snake head pop out off the grass. I stop and look at it. Its head goes back into the grass. I walk on, but at some point I realize that it has left the grass and is coming after me.

I run into the nearest room, which is like a little storage room next to the pool. What I remember is a small TV, that I don’t watch, a worn old couch and a pile of old wooden furniture (like chairs). I’m sitting there, and I just know that I’m kind of safe, and that I’ll be ok when everyone gets back from lunch.

I text Brandon to come back and escort me. But I get no response. So, I wait there. For some reason I know that I cannot touch the snake and that it’s poisonous.

I hear a thunk on the door. I open it, and it’s a fat Chihuahua, who was trying to fight the snake. I let him in and quickly shut the door on the snake. It now knows where I am. So I try stuffing and old light blue towel into the crack under the door. The texture of the towel was old and stiff feeling.

But it does no good. The snake comes in anyway. I try and run from it, but I know I need to kill it. As it’s chasing me around this room, I find

a Tupperware container (like the one you carry sandwiches in.). I somehow get the snakes head and upper body into the Tupperware container and smash his head within the container (since I couldn’t touch it)

I knew that I had triumphed. And just as that was happening, people were coming back from lunch. I left the room and rejoined the guys.

This is when I first realize that Lennis is there (he has recently left Invista to go to a different company). We walk to a corner of the pool, but as we do I keep seeing more green snake heads pop out – but this time its from the side of the pool). We stop and stand in a circle and start talking. And as we do (I somehow see this but dream me doesn’t realize its happening) but a snake pops out, grows legs and jumps at me.

Lennis yells, grabs it and throws it over a fence.

Then he holds me, as I have started shaking.

We have to go back to the meeting room, so I get a death grip on Lennis’ hand. And we walk into the room. Steve Mac is surprised to see Lennis and everyone is surprised to see us holding hands. But then everyone applauds us and we leave. He tells me that I should have been hired instead of him.

I wake up.

THE BACKGROUND:Well- I have been having doubts about my current relationship (boyfriend not in dream). I feel surly towards him and i am not sure why.

We live together, and recently lost his job.

I recently interviewed for a new job, but didn't get it - Lennis did - because he has more experience in the field.

Hi

Dreams are about the little conversations that we have with ourselves. Its a fascinating dream. I think that the dream deals with obvious themes like

"I should have got the job rather than Lennis".

But notice that he performs much more effectively than you in the dream. Its probably a dream about your dealing with your own resentments... we try to spot our own weaknesses and I think that you have spotted your own weaknesses. He maybe better suited to this job thanyou... he might not be ... thats not really relevant here. The fact is that you didn't get the job and you have to deal with the negative feelings towards this. It might be related to you being surly towards your BF.-----------------------------------------------------

Dream dictionary and dream symbol study

Try this dream guide to help you understand the symbols in your dreams. DREAM GUIDE

-------------------------------------------
DREAM INTERPRETATION PROGRAM: When you post a dream a list of symbols will appear here. They will help you work out what has caused your dream. The following dream symbols all appear in THIS DREAM.

SNAKES Many people say that snakes can symbolize negative emotions such as jealousy or resentment. But why? Snakes can strike at any time and their bite is venomous and unpleasant. So a snake could represent someone whose negative comments could strike at any time. Snakes in dreams

TOILETS: Dreams often use symbols which in some way capture a similar emotion. If you are in a toilet its a private and personal matter and something that you like to keep hidden. A toilet dream could be your minds way of saying "I felt vulnerable yesterday as I felt some very private emotions in front of people who I barely know."

DEATH: Death is often used in a quite abstract way in dreams. If you no longer see an ex boyfriend or girlfriend then if they die in a dream it may simply mean that you realise that you will never see them again(the relationship has DIED!). It may also symbolise a change in your life as are no longer able to do something (If you have a bad knee you can no longer play football so that part of you has died). Dreams are often like short plays and the emotions that they evoke could be feelings that you are experiencing right now. If a dear friend or loved one died then you would be devastated. That just may be your minds way of saying that you really value that person - you could not live without them.

FINISH: What does it mean if you are finishing something in a dream? Well think of the wider appplications of that theme. Have you been thinking how long something has taken to complete? Do you feel totally unprepared for something? (so you worry that something is unlikely to be completed. Do you need to try harder in some way? (so something is more likely to be completed).

For more information read here Finish dreams

FIGHTING: Dreams represent your emotions so think of fighting as a sign that you have been in some emotional struggle. In practice fighting represents resentments as we fight against peoples perceptions of us. So ask yourself simple questions such as - Do you feel that someone does not recognise your achievements? Do you feel you have to work twice as hard as everyone else to be accepted?

For more information read here Fighting dreams

YELLING: Dreams are metaphors so what do you think yelling could symbiolize in your own emotions. If we speak in a brutal and honest way its almost the same as yelling. It shows we do not care about trying to hide unpleasant truths. Conversely yelling may show that you want to say something and be brutally honest but cannot because of rules or you are just trying to be gentle with people. Yelling can symbolise other frustrations - it could be a metaphor for your attempts to make something clear. You could have explained something a million times yet the message still did not get through. Dreams may not necessarily be about you and so a yelling dream may represent your attempts to understand someones strength of feeling. Understanding other people and being able to get along with them is a vital part of being a human being. Effective communication and the ability to emphasise is something that we need to think about.

KILLED OR MURDERED: Dreams tap into similar sets of emotions and so what exactly does murder involve. Firstly, it involves strong emotions so its likely that a dream with murder in reveals your strong negative feelings about someone. Dream studies have shown that murder dreams involve strong negative feelings towards someone or something. It can link to someone who you really dislike - someone who you want out of your life. Murrder can also be a symbol for your rsistance towards something. You want to cut it out of your life!

For more information read here Murdering dreams

POISON: If dreams represent your emotions then what could poison symbolize? Maybe the poison could represent someone's spitefulness? Poison could represent a situation so think of something that is poisonous in that it is slowly destroying you? Perhaps a job or relationship that is really not working and staying there is destroying you from inside.

GRABBING: -Have you got lots of unused energy right now?
-Do you feel unsettled or unhappy right now?
- Do you feel pressured?
- Have you just shown massive determination and resolve? Do you want to show more resolve?

For more information read here Grabbing dreams

JUMP: -Have you been thinking about some change which you need to make?
-Did someone act decisively yesterday?
-Do you feel under pressure at the moment?
-Have you just radically changed your view on something?
-Did someone act very hastily yesterday?
