dream dictionary symbolism and analysis

This dream dictionary uses a bank of hundreds of real dreams to show how dream symbols translate into real life thoughts and feelings.

THE DREAM I am being chased by an army of some kind. I seem to escape and then see men on horses who are on my side. I join up with my fellow men. There was a feeling of euphoria and celebration. The men were charging in celebration and elation.

GUESSWORK The dreamer thought of the day before when he woke up. He had been steadily more depressed during the day. Later his mood started to improve. He ended up elated and almost euphorical. The bad feelings had been typical as the dreamer disliked being on his own. The day before he had to spend a lot of time on his own and that usually ended up in a mood of depression. Yet this time the dreamer managed to pull out of that.

The "Guesswork" stage of interpreting a dream involves spotting issues likely to cause dreams. For help with this click here

ASSOCIATIONS AND SYMBOLIC MEANINGS
1. ELATION AND EUPHORIA. The euphoria reminded the dreamer of the night before when the dreamer felt elated. Often dreams can tap into recent strong feelings. The dream may mean that these feelings were important or they marked a change of some kind. In this case the dreamer had a tendency to be depressed whilst on his own. Yet the day before he had managed to snap out of the depression.
2. CHASED. Chased dreams can symbolise depression. Its not common but it may symbolise some associated feelings. If you are chased by an army its unpleasant and gruelling. It is also something that is not easy to get away from. The dreamer felt that depression was something that he was unable to get away from. This had steadily worn him down the day before.

DREAM ANALYSIS In guesswork the dream was linked to the dreamers mood as it had progressed the day before. The dream deals with the following themes
- a gruelling unhappy mood
- elation

If you weave together the different themes you find that they could capture these thoughts - "I often find it difficult when I am on my own. I got worn down and started to feel depressed yesterday. Yet unusually I was able to snap out of it and actually felt elated and euphorical. "
